Obama Era School Regulations Cause Grief, Violence [VIDEO]

A few months ago, many of us here discussed the causes we believed responsible for the spate of violence in schools, the heartbreak and grief, the suicides, and attempted school shootings after the Parkland massacre once again catapulted school shootings into the limelight. We also discovered something called the PROMISE program kept Parkland shooter Cruz in school, rather than toss his worthless ass out or at the very least refer him to a shrink. What is PROMISE?

Apparently, it’s what RealClear Investigations describes as a “reverse jail-to-school” pipeline that has transitioned thousands of criminal juveniles back into the school system.

The number of returning felons and other serious offenders has climbed each year since Broward Schools Supt. Robert Runcie, a close ally of President Obama, started the program in 2013 as part of his crusade to “end the school-to-prison pipeline,” which he says has disproportionately harmed young African-American men.

The next year, district officials worked with county prosecutors, probation officers and judges to release and return 325 incarcerated students to area schools. The number grew to 570 in the 2015 school year, before rising to 967 in 2016, the latest available figure provided to RCI by the district.

Obama era policies, nothing that black students in the 2011-12 school year were three times as likely to be suspended and expelled as white students. They didn’t like that much, because we can’t possibly support justice if it means that African Americans are disciplined at a higher rate than others – even if they commit crimes at disproportionately higher rates!

Enter Obama and his social justice shitweasels.

To address this disparity, the Obama administration established new school discipline guidelines in 2014. Using the threat of civil rights lawsuits, the policy urged the nation’s schools to use positive reinforcement instead of punishing students’ bad behavior by suspending or expelling them.

So instead of a stupid “zero tolerance” policy that led to kids being booted out of school for chewing their breakfast pastries into the shape of something that could ostensibly be interpreted as a vaguely gun-shaped object, the policies became ones of “extreme tolerance,” because dog forbid we punish black kids for misbehavior! Someone might screech RAAAAAAACISM!!!

And guess what! Knowing that teachers don’t have much discretion when controlling their classes, bullying and other misbehavior are out of control.

This example in Baltimore County public schools is a prime example of what happens when the government takes away the teachers’ ability to discipline students and exercise control in their classrooms for fear of being called a bigot.

I dare you not to weep for this poor little boy, who was so relentlessly bullied in school, that he wanted to die!

If you don’t get at least one visit from the onion ninjas while watching this travesty, I have to wonder if you have a heart.

The parents in the video say they will probably choose to send their children to private schools. They will have to work more to afford it. They will probably be home less, and their children will probably suffer because mom and dad will be gone a lot more. But it’s a small price to pay if it saves a kid’s life, or prevents yet another child from feeling so desperate to end the torment, that they make plans to shoot their classmates and themselves just to stop the pain!

At what point do we stop genuflecting at the altar of political correctness? At what point do we apply common sense to school disciplinary cases without regard for race? At what point do we stop being afraid that some malcontent will screech “RAAAAAACISM,” when justice is the appropriate response?

There’s a reason Lady Justice is usually depicted blindfolded. She stands with a scale in her left hand, weighing the evidence objectively, without seeing anything but the substance of the case. The blindfold represents impartiality, as justice should be based on nothing more but a preponderance of the facts – without regard to race, gender, or any other sign of “victimhood” that the social justice zealots would foist upon us.

It shouldn’t matter how many African American men, white women, or Hispanic children are impacted by disciplinary policies. If they are endangering the safety and well-being of others and preventing them from learning, the penalties should be just and stringent without regard for color, gender, sexuality, or anything else.

Otherwise, children who are smaller and weaker will disproportionately see abuse at the hands of their abusive, criminal classmates, and some will attempt to end their agony by destroying what they see as the root of their pain – the tormentors who make their lives a living hell in school.

Time to end this destructive, twisted Obama-era policy that perverts the very concept of justice and results in violent scum being allowed to destroy the lives of others.

The parents in this video, Nicole and Josh Landers, started a Facebook group called Parents Against School Violence that is calling on Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to rescind this ill-conceived “PROMISE” program guidance, and ostensibly, the Education Departmetn is in the process of reviewing those guidelines.

So far, no decision has been made. Let’s hope it is soon, before another sweet little boy yearns for death to end his agony.

If you approach it from the viewpoint that Hussein al Barack hates America and all Americans…then it all makes sense.

Great post Marta, and great comment Rube..

To be honest, i just started reading, without looking at who was writing it, and I didn’t know who it was, until I got to “Enter Obama and his social justice shitweasels.”… Then I had no doubt… Bravo as always!

    the school-to-prison pipeline
The problem isn’t “school to prison”. It’s “home to prison, via the school”. The difficulty is that the kid’s behavior is not what we consider appropriate for our national culture. At best it’s borderline. But you then bring them into a somewhat rigid version of that “national culture”, and it becomes a lot worse than borderline. And now how you react to it either reinforces good traits or bad traits. If you allow it, you not only reinforce the behavior, but you add on top of it the idea that race (or whatever flavor of victimhood) can be used to bully others into letting you do what you want. It’s not that the schools are at fault for turning these kids into thugs, it’s that they merely shine the light upon behavior that is already unacceptable.
Yes, this is a recipe for disaster.

Absolutely correct – as regards the perpetrator and the victim. Neither one should matter.
