No, You Are Not a Good Person

OK, we get it. You hate Nazis. White supremacists are trash. Racists are the world’s most noxious, collectivist filth. They are an odious cancer that needs to be eradicated from this earth.

We agree. There’s not much to disagree with there, unless you actually belong to the above set of diseased sewage, in which case, we cordially invite you to sodomize yourself with a cactus. Dipped in battery acid. Repeatedly.

That’s just self defense, right?

But apparently just hating collectivist carrion is just not enough for some leftists. Unless you toe a very specific line, you are to be reviled, deprived of employment, threatened, and ultimately expelled from the society of “good people” the left aims to create. You are not a “good person” unless you use the absolute correct language to denounce exactly the people the left wants you to denounce. You are not a “good person” if you even mention the violence on the left in the same breath as you mention the violence on the right, let alone denounce it.

And, of course, it’s the left that gets to determine just what a “good person” is.

That’s a basket of NOPE, leftists. Being a speech fascist doesn’t make you a “good person,” and neither does dictating to others how they should show their outrage about the events of last weekend.

But that’s what the left does, and these people ardently believe it makes them good people to destroy lives, livelihoods, and reputations.

Well, I have to ardently disagree.

No, you are not a good person if you can’t see the difference between an AntiFa thug and a World War II veteran.

No, you are not a good person if you publish the name of someone who wasn’t even in Charlottesville last weekend because some fat, pasty neanderthal in a crowd bore a passing resemblance to said individual, publicizing an innocent man’s place of employment, his address and telephone number, causing him to receive threats, explain himself to his employer, and hide his family in fear for their safety.

No you are not a good person because you re-post a meme condemning Nazis on Facebook. We all hate Nazis. Get over yourself.

No, you are not a good person if you threaten a man’s livelihood and work to ruin his reputation as a well-regarded author for daring to point out that the extremist left and extremist right are opposite sides of the same coin and fruit of the same tree, and you’re definitely not a good person, but a noxious liar when you claim said man defended Nazis in Charlottesville when he very specifically condemned them.

No, you are not a good person if you passively-aggressively virtue signal your “goodness” by telling people to “unfriend” you on Facebook if they support a certain “side” or if they think a certain way. It makes you either too lazy to know who your “friends” are, or too chickenshit to delete them yourself for fear of them confronting you with questions.

No, you are not a good person if you call on your virtue signalling pals to shun an author in an effort to negatively impact her book sales and her livelihood and reputation, because she had the temerity to call for restraint when venting outrage on social media until all the facts come out.

No, you are not a good person if you mindlessly republish a man’s phone number identifying him as a Nazi depicted in a photo taken in Charlottesville last weekend without verifying who he is, and based on nothing but hearsay and unverified claims by sketchy prevaricators looking for a little revenge, because said man identified them publicly as valor thieves. Apologizing for being a moron and not verifying the truth is great, acting like an obtuse, reactionary bottom feeder and causing that man to receive middle of the night telephone calls and be threatened is not.

You are not a good person if you think innocent people who get caught up in your frothing zeal to punish wrongthink are justified collateral damage.

You are not a good person if you accuse an innocent person of being a neo-Nazi merely because they hit the “like” button on an article with which you disagree.

No, you are not a good person if you intolerantly claim that any person who happened to be present at the protests – even as a peaceful demonstrator or onlooker – deserves to be labeled a Nazi, even if they simply object to the removal of America’s history and don’t want said history forgotten. Because lying down with dogs or something…

No, you are not a good person if you take it upon yourself to destroy monuments, vandalize graves, or throw a petulant toddler fit as you kick a statue you didn’t and couldn’t create and that did not belong to you shortly after you’ve toppled it like a savage on a meth trip. But since you are apparently affiliated with slimy socialist scum, we wouldn’t expect you to understand the meaning of private property or the evil and malevolence of attacking others’ efforts.

No, you are not a good person if you believe in freedom of speech, but only for those with whom you agree.

And no, you are not a good person if you actively work to destroy your political opponents and their friends and families for merely holding different political views.

You are not a good person. You are bigoted, vengeful, petty scum that fits the mold of fascist as much as the racist, ignorant, slime you condemn.

Look in the mirror and have enough objectivity and common sense to see what you really are.

You are not a good person.

Wait, what?!? The NAZI-punchers hate collectivists?! Oh boy, is *that* cognitive dissonance going to hurt……
(Nah, who am I kidding? They’re deaf to that dissonance – cognitive anything, really.)

Not just “not a good person”, but a libeler. And I’d be suing big time. And I would insist part of the settlement be the execution of your second paragraph.

wouldn’t expect you to understand the meaning of private property

Technically, I think that was public property. But it’s sort of irrelevant to these Stalinists & Maoists.

You are bigoted, vengeful, petty scum that fits the mold of fascist as much as even more than the racist, ignorant, slime you condemn.

    Small fix, imho.

Oh, and an addendum from me, personally, to the idiots:
Please – PLEASE come riot on my street. Because I would love to demonstrate to you the proper handling of a fascist or communist revolutionary in a free republic. Make sure you bring your torches and pitchforks, and a bat or two (or a bike lock if you “swing” that way). They won’t do you any good, but they might give you some pretend courage.

Well said Marta, and love your comments as usual GWB, especially inviting the scum to your neighborhood.. but I’m guessing that just like where I live, they’ll never have the guts ti show up, because they KNOW how it’ll work out for them. They only pull this crap in places they’re reasonably sure they can get away with it.

  • JoMama says:

Silly gits. The first amendment only applies to the government’s potential actions against the speaker. Say whatever noxious and nonfactual thing you believe, but remember that the rest of us citizens get to react to your idiocy in whatsoever legal way we decide. Shouting you down, pointing out your stupidity and hatefulness, doxxing, counter-protesting, refusing you service, boycotting…all completely legal and reasonable reactions to “EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ONLY WHITES.”
…And absolutely, positively NOT violating anyone’s 1st amendment rights. It never included the line “…and everyone else has to sit there and do or say nothing in response.”

    • Marta Hernandez says:

Oh, so you haven’t seen idiots claiming speech which they deem “offensive” should not be protected by the First Amendment?

      Well, let me enlighten you.

      http://reason.com/blog/2017/08/14/violent-charlottesville-counterprotester

      https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/05/30/hate-speech-is-not-protected-by-the-first-amendment-oregon-mayor-says-hes-wrong/?utm_term=.56a066bf6613

The claim that “Free speech does not protect hate speech” is bullshit, and has been spanked by the Supreme Court.

So yes, I agree with you that the First Amendment refers to government action against the speaker. Unfortunately, your idiot brethren do not.

Additionally, no one said anything about whether that laundry list of dipshittery you have vomited is legal, but rather whether what I listed makes you a good person, as many of your comrades like to paint themselves.

    • GWB says:

in whatsoever legal way we decide. … doxxing

No, that’s called “harassment” and can land you in jail or get you sued. And, if you pick the wrong person, you can be sued for libel. Lots and lots of libel.

      refusing you service

Sorry, no! You folks (I suspect you’re part of that crowd) made that illegal, remember? If I have to bake you a cake, you have to provide me service.

Oh, and nowhere in this post did Marta even reference the First Amendment. So, false premise. (And ditto her comment on the “not a good person”.)

  • […] think I’ll just go on FB one more time to drop this truly excellent rant. I would but the scum on FB would make my wife’s life hard and I love her for putting up with […]

  • Horatio says:

This may be largely accurate, BUT…

…if people are criticizing Neo-Nazis, and your first instinct is to say, “Yeah, but what about [some other group that you think is bad, too]?” – maybe you should ask yourself WHY you reflexively deflect attention away from criticism of Neo-Nazis, and seek moral equivalence.
