Murder Weekend In Chicago, Silence From Democrats [VIDEO]

It was a horrific weekend in the city of Chicago. From Friday at 5 pm, to Sunday morning, the number of people shot stood at 60. Yes. SIXTY. There are nine fatalities, including a teenage girl.

This should be the lead story all over the country.

But it’s not.

Local news is doing their best to get the word out.

Where is the national outcry?

Oh yes, it was Obama’s birthday. Mayor Rahm Emanuel was all over that.

Has he said anything about this weekend and the mass shootings that happened? Nope. Fundraising is more important.

The only Illinois politician who bothered to make a comment was Senator Dick Durbin.

Well, THAT was helpful.

Apparently throwing more money, banning more guns, and spouting bumper-sticker platitudes are not enough! Who knew?

The failure of media to report on Chicago is a combination of covering for Democrat failures and media hypocrisy, as Kim pointed out in her recent post about “Missing White Woman” syndrome and why the media fails to cover missing people of other races.

Chicago has tough gun regulation, which leads to complaints that the guns are coming from outside the city or state. Funny that, criminals don’t seem to care about laws. That’s why they’re called criminals. And when regulations were removed in favor of letting people exercise their Second Amendment rights, this was seen as the courts “peeled off so many layers of our once stellar gun ordinance that it’s barely recognizable.” The failure to manage Chicago lies solely at the feet of Democrats. The last Republican mayor left office in 1931. As much as politicians want to point the finger at guns streaming across state lines, why is this level of violence only happening in Chicago, and not across the entire state?

Could it be that the Democratic leadership simply does not care about gang violence and black-on-black crime of the poorer areas of Chicago, so long as it stays in those areas? Who cares about an innocent 17 year old girl who was shot simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

During one 2½-hour early morning period, 25 people were shot in five multiple-injury shootings, police said.

One of the dead was 17-year-old Jahnae Patterson, who was shot in the face.

Sunday evening more than two dozen relatives of Patterson, a Manley Career Academy High School senior, sobbed outside her family’s brown brick two-flat in the city’s West Garfield Park neighborhood.

Friends and family members hung five poster boards on a fence outside the home with photos of the young woman.

Patterson’s family said she and a friend had gone to a block party and were walking to use a bathroom when they encountered two young men who engaged in a shootout.

“My baby just left the house. Twenty minutes later, I get a call saying my baby got shot,” Patterson’s mother, Tanika Humphries, said.

The fifth of nine children and the first girl in the family, Patterson had her entire life ahead of her, her mother said.

“My baby did not deserve this,” she said. “My baby wasn’t the type to hang out. She was in school. She worked. She did everything she was supposed to do as a teenager. And then coward (expletive) took it all away from us.”

Humphries said her daughter was born with health problems, but survived to be a beautiful and vital young woman, beloved by her young nieces and nephews, as well as her friends.

“I’m trying to be strong, but I can’t,” Humphries said as she broke down and was surrounded by relatives. “I can’t.”

Jahnae Patterson‘s name isn’t being repeated as the innocent victim of alleged gang violence. She is sadly destined to simply be another statistic in a wave of violence that local government refuses to confront head on.

Chicago tolerates the gang violence and the shootings because so long as it stays among the poor and black, instead of among the rich and powerful, nothing changes. And gang leaders know that.

During a Sunday news conference, (Police Chief of Patrol Fred) Waller voiced frustration at gang members whom he blamed for taking advantage of large summer crowds to use as cover to take revenge.

The gang members do not fear repercussions from the law, Waller said.

“They take advantage of that opportunity and they shoot into a crowd, no matter who they hit,” Waller said.

So what would change that? At this point, the question shouldn’t be “what should Chicago do?” but “what aren’t they willing to do to stop this?” Stop and frisk? Enforced curfews? The National Guard? At what point does someone with elected authority say “enough!” and not just pass a meaningless law or demand more federal money to burn on another outreach program?

Haven’t there been enough Jahnae Pattersons already? Why should there be any more, Mayor Emanuel?

Ok. So where are all of the kneelers from the NFL? Why aren’t they out in the streets doing something about this? Oh, right. They are kneeling because of police brutality.

Some education among the residents wouldn’t hurt either.. after all, besides the corruption, THEY are the reason dims keep getting elected there… THEY need to change who they’re putting in office, before anything will really change there. Prayers out to the innocent victims like this, as the family said, they don’t deserve this.

In New Orleans, it wasn’t quite as violent….almost 40 shot and, at last count, 4 dead but that could change……Liberals protested by running around the streets in their underwear……
