Mrs. Romney Said No

Mrs. Romney Said No

Mitt Romney has been very visible and making campaign appearances. There are those who want Mr. Romney to run in 2016 (full disclosure: I hope and pray the answer is No). Interestingly, his wife Ann has a different opinion according to the Daily Mail:

Ann Romney slammed the door Monday on another attempt at the White House for her husband Mitt, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.

Attempting to put a pin in rumors that her husband is secretly plotting another campaign for higher office once and and for all, Romney told a reporter for the Los Angeles Times that she and Mitt were ‘done’ running for president ‘completely.’

‘Not only Mitt and I are done, but the kids are done,’ she said, referring to the couple’s five sons.

‘Done. Done. Done,’ she added, making her feelings on the matter crystal clear.

Mr. Romney is clearly a bright man and has a lovely family. However, he is no Ronald Reagan. President Reagan knew how to communicate effectively with people at all levels of society. Mr. Romney? Not so much. The biggest issue I cannot reconcile is a question from a democrat: “What is the difference between him and President Obama?” If someone can answer that question with something other than his talking points, please enlighten me,  His talking points are kind of fun but that just is not enough.   He has people who want him to run a third time in an article found in the Washington Post.

On Oct. 6, Romney also took part in a GOP fundraising dinner at the Manhattan apartment of Woody Johnson, the New York Jets owner and former Romney campaign finance chairman. Several 2016 hopefuls gave presentations to the donors, while Romney served as a co-host and made no pitch.

Spencer Zwick, Romney’s former national finance chairman, talks regularly with Romney and said he has been receiving daily calls from donors and other supporters. “There are still plenty of donors who hope circumstances will change and there will be an opportunity for Romney to run again,” he said.

Hopefully these donors will get behind a much better candidate this time.  I just cannot say yes to Romney.  He would be a good cabinet member but not POTUS.

Romney had no fire in the belly in 2012-that’s why we got stuck with another 4 years of the media created fraud. Scary thing is that at least he had a pulse compared to fossil Mc Cain in 2008.

And the lack of fire in the belly paired with stunningly incompetent campaign staff led to three million voters staying home.

So true. Aside from Mc Cain I can’t recall anyone running for a major office who looked like he didn’t want to win and made sure of it like Romney did. He must have looked under every rock to find those boobs that helped ensure defeat. His campaign brought nothing but loud yawns from people-those 3 million who didn’t vote merely fell asleep from it all.

  • Gail Boer says:

Project ORCA was a complete mess. Romney lost the minute that garbage was introduced. And the historical blindness to putting a bunch of white people counting voters in minority neighborhoods? Seriously?

    • Appalled By The World says:

All this would be great material for a book called “How To Lose An Election In 5 East Steps”. Do the opposite and you have a good shot at actually winning.

      • Gail Boer says:

That is sad but true. Romney could have won if he actually tried to run and had even a fraction of his heart and mind in the attempt.
