Missouri State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal is, rightfully so, taking heat from all sides of the political spectrum for her Facebook post yesterday. Why? This is why:

“I hope Trump is assassinated!” Missouri state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, wrote during a morning Facebook exchange, referring to Republican President Donald Trump.

Yes, she really did write that. She really, really did. And people got a screen shot of her, now deleted, comment.

Needless to say, it’s a fair bet that the Secret Service is not amused. Nor are Missouri lawmakers on both sides of the aisle who have issued calls for her resignation. 

U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo.: “I condemn it. It’s outrageous. And she should resign.”

U.S. Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-St. Louis: “(C)alling for the assassination of the President is a federal crime. … (She is) an embarrassment to our state. She should resign immediately.”

Missouri Democratic Party Chair Stephen Webber: “The … Party will absolutely not tolerate calls for the assassination of the President. I believe she should resign.”

Missouri Senate Democratic Caucus leader Sen. Gina Walsh: “(She) should be ashamed of herself for adding her voice to this toxic environment.”

Republican Gov. Eric Greitens said in a statement: “We can have differences in our country, but no one should encourage political violence. The senator should resign.”

So, who is Maria Chappelle-Nadal? She represents the 14th District. That district not only includes University City, it ALSO includes Ferguson. If you have ANY doubts as to where she stands concerning Michael Brown, the following should set you straight.

Nadal, who loves to filibuster bills she doesn’t like, was heavily involved in the Ferguson Riots. In fact, she participated in and encouraged the protests yet barely uttered a peep regarding all the destruction that left Ferguson dealing with millions of dollars of damage and lost revenue. Instead, she would rather the grand jury had indicted Officer Darren Wilson.

Yes, that’s the very person who wrote that she’s hoping for President Trump’s assassination! By the way, did I mention that she is a Democrat?

As of today, she remains defiant and is refusing to resign.

Is she going to resign? Is she going to apologize for her comment that she contends was written out of frustration? Yeah…NOPE.

In fact she makes this all about her, all about how nobody BUT her knows how to deal with racism as she defines it.

The above interview is very illuminating. She demands respect while at the same time accusing other legislators of being pot heads, rapists, and adulterers. According to her, if they aren’t made to resign, she won’t.

HotAir’s Ed Morrissey had this to say:

If she had any shred of remorse, she would not just resign from this office, but pledge never to run for another one.

Well, guess what? She has ZERO remorse. If she had, she wouldn’t have retweeted this piece of garbage last night.

The “Show Me” state needs to show Maria Chappelle-Nadal the door, and then send her through it ASAP before she causes more damage to the district she claims to represent.
