BILL PRESS: “When you shut down the government, a lot of great things are not going to get done. And why should we make an exception for those that just happen to pop up and get a lot of media attention?”
So when United States servicemen and women lose their lives FOR THIS COUNTRY while Washington D.C. political poker is going on, (in between trips to the Congressional gyms) it’s just one of the things that “pop up”?
You, sir, are an unmitigated ass. Yes, you certainly will “piss off” a lot of people.
UPDATE: The Senate has voted to pay death benefits for the families of U.S. soldiers. In other news, Bill Press is STILL an ass. And I, for one, will not forget him or others who abandoned the families of our military during their sacrifice and loss.

kevin says: His point was, when politicians shut down the government, people are going to suffer. If you step in and remedy all of the individual atrocities then what’s the point of shutting down the government? What about the veteran who lost all of his limbs and he and his loving wife and 3 children were in the midst of a veterans home loan and now that the government is closed, they’re homeless? The point is … the idiots in Washington need to stop pissing and moaning in front of the television cameras and blaming everyone else for their incompetence and take responsibility for their moronic behavior and do something beneficial for the nation. There are thousands of horrible examples of how veterans and every day citizens have been screwed over and it’s all due to their elected officials. If I’m going to get screwed, the least these ass-wipes (e.g. politicians) could do is send flowers the next day.

They will use Guardsmen on foot and using trucks, jeeps and armored vehicles, which will be stationed at all entrance ramps to the Beltway to block incoming traffic starting early Friday morning.”
