I’m a lying traitor bitch

I’m a lying traitor bitch

Know why? Because I dared to tell the truth about Obama skipping out on the Salute to Heroes Ball.

Today, I received the following e-mail:

Subject: Funny
Sender: XMarineMP@aol.com
Recipient: cassy@cassyfiano.com
Date: Today 03:19

I can’t find a listing for the salute to heroes ball.

But I can find the Commander in Chiefs Ball, which Obama attended.

So what is it bitch?

Your lies?

I think that is called being a traitor.

I promptly replied:

You’re right. I made it all up to discredit Obama. The grand conspiracy has been foiled, thanks to you! I’ll make my way to DC now so that Obama can arrest me, personally, for treason since apparently YOU think I am a traitor (and a bitch).

Have a WONDERFUL day!

– Cassy Fiano

Oh, and PS: this e-mail, along with your e-mail address, will be posted on my blog, as the warning on my “contact” tab clearly says. Thanks for the content!

Now, the fact that Obama did not attend the Salute to Heroes ball is an undeniable fact. Whether or not that could be seen as snubbing the military is a matter of opinion. The Cleveland Leader, for example, has a story in which the American Legion acknowledged that Obama did not attend the ball:

Barack Obama became the first U.S. president to skip out on the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball since its inception in 1953. The event recognizes recipients of the military’s highest award – the Medal of Honor – and as The Cleveland Leader previously reported, over the past 56 years and 14 inaugurations, no President has failed to appear at this event until now. Following the breaking of this news, there have been some misconceptions and erroneous information floating around. The American Legion, one of the main sponsors of the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball, issued a statement making it clear once and for all that Barack Obama did not in fact attend the event.

… Obama did make appearances at 10 official balls on January 20, including the Neighborhood Ball, the Home State Ball for Illinois and Hawaii, the Commander-in-Chief Ball, the Youth Inaugural Ball, and the Home State Ball for Delaware and Pennsylvania. He and his wife Michelle finished up the evening with brief appearances at the Mid-Atlantic, Western, Midwest, Easter, and Southern Regional Balls.

The Commander-in-Chief Ball, as some have falsely insinuated, is not the same as the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball. The Veteran’s Ball, which had been cancelled after the event’s organizer disappeared, is also not to be confused with the event honoring Medal of Honor recipients.

The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball did take place at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel on January 20, 2009. 47 Medal of Honor recipients were in attendance at the event. The President traditionally attends, as does the Vice President and other dignitaries. Vice President Joe Biden did attend, but President Obama did not.

Instead, Barack Obama chose to be in the company of Kanye West, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kid Rock, Stevie Wonder, Mary. J. Blige, Usher, Faith Hill, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Shakira, will.i.am, Samuel L. Jackson, Sting, Mariah Carey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sheryl Crow and Marc Anthony, amongst numerous other celebrities in attendance at the balls he did appear at.

There’s even an article from 2005 from the Department of Defense themselves about President and Laura Bush’s, as well as Vice President and Lynn Cheney’s, attendance of the Salute to Heroes ball.

FactCheck.org also has an article on the subject.

So, the facts are indisputable. There was a ball called the Salute to Heroes ball that every other President since the ball’s founding has attended, and Obama broke that streak. And he did it to attend a whirlwind of other balls where he got to rub shoulders with celebrities, politicians, and big money donors. Yes, he also attended the Commander-in-Chief’s ball, where some members of the military were present. Whether you look at this as snubbing the military or not is a matter of opinion. I can tell you outright that my opinion is that Obama should have sacrificed one of his other celebrity-filled extravanganzas so that he could have the time to meet with the best and bravest heroes among us — especially considering it’s not the first time Obama’s snubbed the troops.

What’s really interesting here is how apparently criticizing Obama makes me guilty of treason. Is that the road we’re going to start on here? I guess for some Obama supporters, that’s true.

So, from now on, dear readers, just be sure to keep in mind that you’re apparently reading the blog of a lying, traitor bitch. Just wanted to make sure you knew that… you know, disclosure and all.

Why do you think I read you? 😛

  • physics geek says:

That last was a joke, just in case I wasn’t clear.

  • Mat says:

    But Cassy,

You can’t talk that way about Obama. He’s the Messiah, come to save us all. We won’t even need a military in a few years, because his sheer radiance, his limitless blind optimism and magnificent oratory (it’s like angels singing) skills will be enough of a shield to put fear into the most daunting of our foes. In fact, I think it’ll be like the end sequence of the movie “Dune”, where Paul lifts up his hands and it rains all over the desert of Arrakis. Actually, I have to admit that it would be a neat trick if he could pull that off.

As for the traitor part, so much for unity and bipartisanship, but then I never really bought into that pile of horse patood in the first place.

  • Mat says:

“That last was a joke, just in case I wasn’t clear.”

Well Physics, you know how humorless us conservatives are… :oP

  • salfter says:

Look at the address of the sender. “XMarineMP?” I’m just an Air Force brat, but I’m fairly sure that former Marines would never refer to themselves as “ex-Marines.” The only ex-Marines, I’m told, are Lee Harvey Oswald and John Murtha. Given that one of them is dead (and the other ought to be), odds are you’re dealing with one of the many left-wing keyboard commandos who are now infesting the blogosphere, now that their boy won.

I suppose they can be mildly amusing…for a little while, anyway.

  • Mark says:

XMarine? More like a jelly bean marine! What a disgrace to the Corps, talking to a woman like that.

  • Instinct says:

Yea, count me in on the treason then. And as for the asswipe who emailed you, I sincerely wonder if he was EVER a Marine, ex or otherwise, or an MP. Because if he was there is no way he could be that 100% retarded.

Oh, and XMarineMP – yea, I’m calling you a retarded sack of shit.

  • Jarrod says:

Why yes, how dare you question the Lightworker! Dissent is only patriotic when you’re dissenting against those evil Republicans.

    Obey.

(I’m just practicing for when they come to my house to make sure I’m sufficiently conformed)

  • Jenn says:

Don’t you love it when know nothing leftards attack you and you can totally slap ’em down with those little inconvenient things called facts?

  • baz says:

I wouldn’t have thought disagreeing with the POTUS was treason until I was told I was treasonous for disagreeing with Bush. I don’t buy it in either case, but now that the shoe’s on the other foot…

  • Loren says:

So dissent isn’t the highest form of patriotism anymore?

  • JFH says:

    baz,

Who said disagreeing with Bush was treasonous… please cite.

Besides, we’re Cassy is discussing a factual event, not a difference of opinion. I guess y’all on the left have a real problem with that difference.

  • JAS says:

Well if voicing my opinion about how much I love my country and the bad that is happening to it under current administration or whom ever that may be, well then I guess I am a traitor, as the saying goes “for God and Country”, and I say freedom is worth fighting for even if being called a traitor.

P.S. Thank you to all the troops who put their lives on the line everyday.

  • This is typical of the Left. They don’t have their facts straight. They just skew the situation to suit their agenda. And in this case the “email idiot” wanted to make you look bad, Cassy. The only thing he succeeded in doing was making himself look more of a loon.

  • proof says:

In 2005, the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball was the FIRST one that George and Laura Bush attended. It’s all a matter of priorities!

  • proof says:

Even Bill “I loathe the military” Clinton managed to make it as one of his 14 inaugural balls!

That’s really saying something when Bill Clinton shows more respect to the military than Barack Obama!

  • Daniel says:

Do you want me to update your header with your blog’s new catch-phrase? 😉

  • Texas Truth says:

Cassy, hang in there. This guy is a total idiot. I would LOVE to meet him face to face and give him a piece of my mind, along with a piece of me. What a piece of trash he is. No wonder he used a bogus e mail address. Typical democratic tactics..attack soneone and run and hide. He is a fitting supporter of the idiot we now have in the White House.

  • Slamdunk says:

Cassy 1 Morons 0 — After being entertained seeing that guy/gal become roadkill, I may try to prod some of my uninformed progressive friends to email you…

  • Jill says:

Typical liberal – he thinks if he’s nasty enough, facts will automatically change themselves to support him. Many liberals think yelling, outrage and personal attacks create reality (particularly in conjunction with race card-pulling and class conflict-stoking…add a pinch of Bush-blaming and they’re bullet-proof).

  • Rob Farrington says:

When the morons start licking your windows, you KNOW that you’re doing something right.

  • The Watcher says:

Hey, if telling the truth about Teh One is considered treason…count me in.

  • Joe Duncan says:

Many years ago I had a room mate at Ft Sill who was an MP. The best way to yank his chain was to remind him that one of the key ingredients in wimp was “MP”. In deference to Cassie’s boyfriend I will not get started on Marines. Go Army.

  • Ron S. says:

    Well….

Don’t confuse him with the facts, his mind’s made up.

  • William says:

Well, you can tell from his e-mail address that he’s never worn a uniform. Only the Army has Military Police (MP). Navy, Air Force and Marines have Security Police (SP). I love it when people make the little mistakes that give themselves away.

  • NB says:

Translation of email: “I love Obama and facts are immaterial to any conversation regarding him.”

Looks like the media hypnotism worked as intended.

  • Daniel says:

@william – They’re “Security Forces” now in the AF.

  • spike says:

so another leftard tries to rise up on his toe shoes…nice smackdown, cassy!

  • Juan says:

The basis of the complaint is that Obama snubbed the troops with this. But it doesn’t even feel that way. Yes, he didn’t visit, but who cares? He visited with soldiers regardless. You can choose and pick your fights, and I will say, this really isn’t one to bother with.

  • Ron S. says:

    Juan:

several things: It might not feel that way to you but to a number of us it feels exactly that way. The president chose not to attend a ball hosted for the winners of the highest military honor. As wikipedia defines it –“The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government. It is bestowed on a member of the United States armed forces who distinguishes himself “conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States”.[1] Because of the nature of its criteria, the medal is often awarded posthumously.”
Barak Obama is the first president NOT to attend this ball since it started. As for who cares — I do! BTW, the President of the United States is the commander in chief of the US Armed Forces. U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 2. When the commander in chief does not take 5 or 10 minutes to show up for a party to honor those who have been awarded the highest military honor in our coutry, it smells like a snub to me.

  • WayneB says:

Not surprisingly, the FactCheck.org article seems to have disappeared.

And Juan, I don’t see this one as a fight, just another example of the disdain our new President has for the troops.
