Hillary Clinton has emerged from her walk in the woods and will soon publish a book of essays discussing her life, her failed Presidential campaign(s), and her pastoral aspirations??

Hillary Clinton wants to preach. That’s what she told Bill Shillady, her longtime pastor, at a recent photo shoot for his new book about the daily devotionals he sent her during the 2016 campaign. Scattered bits of reporting suggest that ministry has always been a secret dream of the two-time presidential candidate: Last fall, the former Newsweek editor Kenneth Woodward revealed that Clinton told him in 1994 that she thought “all the time” about becoming an ordained Methodist minister. She asked him not to write about it, though: “It will make me seem much too pious.” The incident perfectly captures Clinton’s long campaign to modulate—and sometimes obscure—expressions of her faith.

Wait, what? She’s been thinking about becoming a minister since 1994? Is this something real and genuine, or is this the eleventy billionth reinvention of Hillary?

It seems that Shillady, at Hillary’s request, has compiled all the devotionals he sent her into a book titled Strong For A Moment Like This. A book that will be publishing at approximately the same time as this book:

Yes, we all know what happened back in November. We also know that Hillary waited nearly a full day to give a concession speech, one in which she quoted from a devotional Bill Shillady sent her:

Needless to say, the reactions to Hillary’s pastoral aspirations have run the gamut.

And, of course, a certain hashtag started trending on Twitter.

HAHAHAHA!! OUCH.

Now CNN has obtained an email that he sent her the morning after she lost the election. You can read the entire email here.

“God doesn’t close one door without opening another, but it can be hell in the hallway.” My sister Hillary. You, our nation, our world is experiencing a black Friday. Our hope is that Sunday is coming. But it might well be hell for a while.
For Hillary, I’d bet that was quite the understatement. Needless to say, given the scope of Hillary’s political life, it’s really difficult to look at her and consider her as a spiritual mentor. Whitewater, leaving the White House in shambles, uranium sales, Clinton Foundation, bathroom servers, pay for access, deleted emails, Benghazi, and so much more. If you factor in all of those things, having The Atlantic describe her as trustworthy and fundamentally moral makes me cringe, or hurl…or both.
According to Shillady, who admitted that even HE was depressed for months after the election, Hillary’s faith led her out of the woods. So much so that she’s considering guest-preaching a time or two in order to share the good news. Hillary has a history of turning EVERYTHING she says into a political speech; does anyone think she could refrain from doing so when standing in a pulpit? I doubt it.
Hillary Clinton NEVER makes a move without examining how it will play politically. Hillary didn’t want to discuss her faith in detail back in 1994 because it would make her seem “too pious” politically. But now, in 2017, it’s ok? Yeah, she’s planning something. We’ll find out what it is during her sermon!
