Green Beret #SGTMartland Will Be Discharged From Army For Shoving An Afghani Child Rapist

According to a report on Fox News the Army is kicking out Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland for shoving an Afghan policeman named Abdul Rahman to the ground in 2011. Why would a decorated Green Beret, a member of the U.S. Army’s elite Special Force be shoving an Afghan policeman to the ground? According to SGFC Martland’s colleague Daniel Quinn, it was because Rahman found it funny that two American Green Beret’s would defend a 12 year old boy whom Rahman had forcibly raped.

SGFC Martland’s road to this point has been storied and some might even argue, blessed. A former All State football player out of Massachusetts with a future in the National Football League (NFL), Martland was inspired by Pat Tillman. Mr. Tillman was a very accomplished football player in the NFL who signed up post 9-11 and became a member of the Army’s other special force, the Rangers. When Martland heard about Tillman’s patriotic career change he was inspired to follow the same pathway and set out to become a Green Beret.

In 2006, Martland dropped out of Florida State University (ranked the #4 team in the nation) and graduated instead from the U.S. Army’s Special Forces Qualification Course. In 2008 he deployed to Iraq and served a tour and in 2010 he was sent as part of a 12 man unit to the Kunduz province in Afghanistan.

He survived a Taliban ambush started by their team driving over an IED, and acted with valor in the eyes of his colleagues. “I thought he was gone, then he comes out of nowhere to save us,” said an active-duty Green Beret who refused to give his name. As a result of his bravery he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor.

In late summer of 2011, a young boy and his mother came to Martland’s camp and showed the soldiers his wrists which had rope burns on them. The boy’s mother explained that her son had been raped by the local police and that she had been beaten when she reported the crime to the local police. A camp doctor examined the boy and found evidence of rape.

Martland and his colleagues had heard about rape being an issue in the province and even in the local area where they were stationed. So, they went and paid a visit to their local police and explained the seriousness of the situation to Abdul Rahman. That is when the policeman laughed according to Martland’s collegue Daniel Quinn, who was present.

“He (Rahman) confessed to the crime and laughed about it, and said it wasn’t a big deal. Even when we patiently explained how serious the charge was, he kept laughing.”

Martland was disgusted and he and Quinn, who had a young son himself,  shoved the man to the floor. Rahman went to a nearby village and reported the incident to another Army unit. A couple days later Quinn and Martland were taken away in a U.S. Army helicopter and given temporary positions in a different area of the country.  Pending the outcome of the investigations launched into the incident by the Army, the men were both sent home to the States. Quinn left the service and now works on Wall Street, but Martland chose to fight.

He had some dedicated supporters including Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA), who wrote a letter to Defense Secretary Ash Carter on behalf of Martland when he learned of his story. He was runner up for “Instructor of the Year” of the Special Warfare Training Group  in 2014 out of 400 candidates and has been described as the best soldier manyof his brethren had ever served with.

On November 1, 2015 this amazing soldier who did the right thing when others would have turned their backs on a 12 year old boy and his mother will be “involuntarily discharged” from the U.S. Army.

According to Tim Bullman, a childhood friend of Martland’s who went on to play in the NFL:

“You would want him in your corner and protecting our freedom.”

This IS NOT the Army I grew up in. This is NOT my father’s, or grandfather’s Army. THIS is the Army of political correctness run amok and of a Muslim sympathizer who would rather appease Islamists than call them out on their bass ackwards and barbaric practices.

This man is a hero! He was trying to protect a little boy! This little boy, probably with untold others, were being raped/abuses/harmed by “authorities”. What was he supposed to do? Look the other way? What kind of man would do that? Oh, right probably the co-workers of that “cop”.

THANK YOU, Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland!!! Thank you for serving! Thank you for standing up for what is right! You deserve a medal not removed from duty. What a sad, sad day for the AMERICAN MILITARY!!

To those who are working to kick out Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland…shame on you! He was attempting to protect a young child & probably his mother/family as well. Stop being so damn cowardly in front of the enemy! You should be supporting YOUR SOLDIER, not the enemy!
