Go Team USA – Jonathan Quick Honors America with Goalie Mask

Go Team USA – Jonathan Quick Honors America with Goalie Mask

Team USA has learned its lesson when it comes to hockey masks at the Olympics.

In 2010, goalie Jonathan Quick was made to remove the words “Support Our Troops” from his mask’s back plate.  This year, women’s goalie Jessie Vetter had to redesign her mask after the United States Constitution was deemed to violate the IOC’s rules on “political propaganda.”

The lesson learned – NEVER use words.  Only images.

Quick’s goalie mask for the Sochi Olympics has been revealed, and no words are necessary.

I think the only words left to use are “Go Team USA!”

If it were me, I would tell the IOC to stuff it. Of course, then they would force the team out of the matches and we couldn’t win anything. Then again, the outrage from Americans might very well end the International Olympics farce once and for all. This sort of bullying needs to be stood up to.
