Sen. Mark Udall Exploits Murdered Journalists Foley and Sotloff in Campaign Debate

Senator Mark Udall of Colorado is caught in a grueling reelection campaign. He’s scared. And he’s desperate. And he knows he helped lasso every single American citizen with the junker that is ObamaCare, costing scores of us our healthcare policies, and insists he’d do it again. He also insists that ISIS, reportedly cohabiting with drug cartels down in Juarez, Mexico, “does not present an imminent threat to this nation,” wide open borders and Minnesota ISIS recruits be damned. So on the heels of Senator Mark Begich’s campaign ad grotesquely exploiting an Alaskan family’s tragedy, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s slanderous inference that Scott Walker’s governance resembles a domestic abuser, Udall, during a debate with his Republican challenger, Cory Gardner, thoughtlessly channeled his inner omniscient guru:

Not surprisingly, Gardner, who also addressed the deaths of the journalists during the debate, but not directly naming them, was quick to respond:

“‘Americans have watched in horror in recent weeks as two of our fellow countrymen have been brutally executed by terrorists, and it’s outrageous that Senator Udall would put words into the mouths of dead Americans” Gardner said. ‘Furthermore, it’s deeply troubling that he views a terrorist organization like ISIL as not an imminent threat to America.’”

Then, after taking the much-deserved heat for his insensitive foot-in-mouth disorder—asserting that our two brutally murdered journalists would support the schizophrenic, daily flip-floppery of Barack Obama, a man hopelessly out of his element with no strategy to deal with ISIS, whom he watched grow in strength and number over the past year, doing nothing to curtail it, and reportedly dithering on the rescue of Foley and Sotloff—Udall, insisting we must take “the right next steps as we confront this serious threat,” said this:

“‘I should not have invoked the names of James Foley and Steven Sotloff,’ Udall said in a statement. ‘It was inappropriate and I sincerely apologize.’”

True. About as “inappropriate” as it was for the man who went golfing minutes after addressing the nation on the beheading of one of our own. The very same man whose lackluster foreign policy, dangerous indecisiveness, and Charlie Foxtrot of a healthcare law you reportedly support like the good little sycophant you are, Mr. Udall.

Your move, Colorado. You have a choice: You can vote for more of the same, and expect a different outcome from a man who’s proven himself willing to shamelessly exploit the horrific deaths of our fellow Americans for political expediency, and unabashedly credits himself for stuffing pork into our budgets, helping to balloon our national debt to historic levels. Or you can make a real change and boot this toady to the curb. Harry Reid awaits your decision. The golf ball is in your court.
