#Ferguson Anniversary: Protests and Gun Battles With Police

Just a year ago, a man stole cigarettes from a convenience store and assaulted the store clerk who tried to stop him. Not long after that, Officer Darren Wilson identified that man (Michael Brown) and his friend, and stopped them as they were walking down the middle of the street. A short while later Michael Brown reached into the police cruiser and attacked Officer Wilson. After initially fleeing, Brown turned back and started advancing on Officer Wilson, who then fired upon Michael Brown 12 times and killed him. And that’s when Ferguson, MO, a small suburb of the St. Louis metro area exploded into violence that lasted for months.

Businesses were burned to the ground, people were injured, and many lost their jobs due to the shameful selfish actions of the protestors. Never mind the fact that, as autopsies and witness testimony proved, Brown was never shot in the back. Furthermore, the “hands up don’t shoot” meme was shown to be the lie it was.

Unfortunately it is clear that many refuse to learn the lessons of Ferguson, refuse to grasp the reality that Michael Brown was a thug, and that the shooting – tragic as it was – was wholly justified. The events that took place late last night are a prime example:

A peaceful day of protest and remembrance dissolved into chaos late Sunday when a man fired multiple shots at four St. Louis County plainclothes detectives in an SUV. The detectives fired back and the shooter was struck, said county Police Chief Jon Belmar. He was in critical condition.

On Saturday, Michael Brown’s father marched through Ferguson and symbolically stopped at the permanent memorial site. Prior to the march, Brown thanked supporters for not letting what happened to his son be “swept under the carpet.”   Sure. So never mind the facts of the matter. I guess in his mind and the mind of the protestors, new bouts of looting and firing on cops is EXACTLY the way to “celebrate” the anniversary Michael Brown’s poor choices that led to his death.

Last night police had no choice but to put on their riot gear. All because of protestors stubborn refusal to accept the reality and findings of the grand jury decision. Unfortunately for the plainclothes officers, their unmarked vehicles were not bullet proof.

The young man who took pot shots at those officers, and is now in critical condition? It wasn’t HIS fault you know! Yes, the excuses and blaming of others has begun:

Tyrone Harris identified the victim as his son, Tyrone Harris Jr., 18, of St. Louis. Harris said shortly after 3 a.m. that his son had just gotten out of surgery.

He said his son graduated from Normandy High School and that he and Michael Brown Jr. “were real close.”

“We think there’s a lot more to this than what’s being said,” Harris Sr. said.

Unfortunately for Tyrone’s father, its more clear that he wants to realize. His son fired upon police leaving them no choice but to defend themselves and fire back. Period.

Never mind that very good advice. All the different coalitions and protestors who came in from around the country do not care. You mean it wasn’t just citizens of Ferguson who’ve been marching and speaking the last few days?  Nope!

One speaker, Yonasda Lonewolf, declared: “Mike Brown was murdered here. This was the epicenter of the movement of ‘black lives matter.’ We still cannot get justice.” She added, “It’s time for us to not seek justice but to demand justice.” Lonewolf is the granddaughter of Minister Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam.

Eric Garner’s daughter was there, so was Princeton Professor Cornel West. Do you think they want peaceful protests or want to help people accept the reality that Michael Brown was a thug?

Yes, you thought wrong. The last few days are just another opportunity for West and others to show up, show off, and pose for photos.

Who is that you ask? Why that is none other than Brittany “Bree” Newsome. The infamous young lady who scampered up a flagpole in South Carolina and tore down a Confederate battle flag!

Given the shameful inflammatory rhetoric of Cornel West and his sycophants is it any wonder that Ferguson and all of St. Louis is on edge today? West and many others have stated that if they don’t get what they want, whatever the heck that is, then its #UnitedWeFight. If that doesn’t work their next grand plan is to #ShutItDown.

What did Ferguson teach the protestors over this last year? Not a thing. They don’t care about the truth. They don’t care that Michael Brown was a thug, and they don’t care enough to roll up their sleeves and help fix the problems in Ferguson. You know why? Because they ARE the problem.

Well, sad to say I disagree about that punks death being a tragedy – the only tragedy was the harm suffered by innocent people! His death was an example of “good riddance” in my book!

Yesterday I took a long, hard dump, examined the result and declared it to be a gentle giant-just exactly like that other POS that also got flushed away a year ago. That’s how I honored the memory of the aspiring brain surgeon whose departure created another highlight in the glorious Obaman People’s Republic-where new highlights are always just one reporter away from being created.

You quote the article with the paragraph that says:

after a day of peaceful rallies

but you don’t quote the next paragraph (which I saw elsewhere*), which includes:

disperse demonstrators blocking traffic and smashing storefront windows

And a “reporter” actually wrote those two paragraphs in the same story. They didn’t say the blocking and smashing began after the shooting – it began before. Yet, it was “a day of peaceful rallies”.

    Fifth Column much?

(* The article I saw quoted was a Reuters article. Your link might be edited from that source, or might be the same story. I don’t know.)
