Dear Virginia Senators – Don’t You Have Actual Business to Attend To?

Dear Virginia Senators – Don’t You Have Actual Business to Attend To?

Well, we still don’t have a FY2018 budget. The government will shut down unless a continuing resolution is passed. I know for a lot of us, that’s pretty much a feature, not a bug, but just think about all those sensitive positions that are responsible for the nation’s security going unfunded, and all those intelligence officers and law enforcement personnel staying home, because the government can’t afford to pay them! Just think about those whom their supervisors consider “essential personnel” having to come to work and pick up slack for the 90 percent of their colleagues who aren’t around!

Fiscal 2017 will end in a little over three weeks.

The debt ceiling debate is ongoing; and let me give those of you who are all boasty about the national debt dropping by more than $12 billion in Trump’s first few months in office a clue: it’s a ridiculous statistic that’s not even remotely significant in the larger scheme of the national debt debate. To quote Dan Mitchell of the CATO Institute – an actual, you know, economist, “Debt levels go up and down in the short run based on independent factors such as quarterly tax payments and predetermined expenditure patterns.” We’re currently in a situation again where the government is insisting on raising the debt ceiling, and I’m thinking that’s a decision that’s pretty important.

There is legislation regarding America’s national security, which the Senate needs to deal with, including additional sanctions against Russia, Iran, and North Korea, which has not been addressed either.

All of these issues of legislation are – at least in my mind – pretty important, but instead of addressing these issues of economics and national security, Virginia’s Senate delegation, consisting of failed Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine and virtue-signalling concern troll Mark Warner have decided to introduce a resolution to force Donald Trump to go on record to officially condemn the deadly white supremacist rallies in Charlottesville last month.

Virginia Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, both Democrats, along with Republican Sens. Cory Gardner of Colorado and Johnny Isakson of Georgia, plan to formally roll out a Senate resolution later Wednesday that forcefully condemns the violence in Charlottesville while “rejecting white nationalists, white supremacists, the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis and other hate groups.”

With all the challenges facing the legislative branch and our country these days, this is what these proglodytes choose to focus on?

Never mind this is absolutely pointless pandering to the screeching, uninformed lot who forget Trump already condemned neo-Nazis as “repugnant.”

“Racism is evil — and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” Trump said in response to the attacks in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend.

“Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America,” Trump said.

But oh, no. That was apparently not enough for the progtards, who continue to insist that Trump is LITERALLY HITLER! Because he was forced to read a script. Because he didn’t mean it. Because he condemned racism a whole TWO DAYS after the events at Charlottesville! LITERALLY! HITLER!

Don’t we have health care reform, immigration reform, tax reform, and a whole host of other issues that are critical to Americans to focus on?

But no, some poor staffer had to put on his pussy hat, and write up a five-page resolution to “officially” condemn Nazis, who have a negligible amount of influence and presence in the United States, and are largely mocked and roundly condemned by the majority of the country, despite the Southern Poverty Law Center’s pearl clutching, and despite the progtards’ collective condemnation of anyone who fails to virtue signal their disdain for racism loudly or forcefully enough (like, say, introducing a joint resolution to confirm that neo-Nazis are bad) as an EVIL RACIST!

Looks like a stand-up guy. Not at all AntiFa!

This is especially precious coming from Tim Kaine, whose own son was arrested on suspicion of rioting in March, when he donned black clothing and set off smoke bombs and fireworks inside the State Capitol in St. Paul, Minnesota. Funny how Kaine refused to condemn the violence from the left, especially given the fact that his kid was arrested for inciting violence from the left.

Right on, Timmah! You just keep lying to yourself about left-wing violence. We know you need the support of these radical douche weasels in order to get elected!

I see this as a transparent attempt to pander to the left’s progressive base, who will accept nothing short of complete genuflection at the altar of their alternate TRUMPISLITERALLYHITLERANDSOISANYONEWHOSUPPORTSHIM reality.

Seriously, Congressweasels – just get back to business that actually matters! I, for one, am sick and tired of the public display of moonbattery in a pathetic attempt to show yourselves as good and virtuous, because you had some snot-nosed staffer write a verbose treatise on how Nazis are bad. I think we established they were bad when we kicked their asses in World War II.

I’d much rather you just passed a damn budget.

Charlottesville violence was fueled by one side: white supremacists spreading racism, intolerance & intimidation. Those are the facts.

No, Tim, those are not the facts. The progs who showed up helped to instigate the violence.
Of course, you are right that only “one side” fueled it – since communists and fascists are on the same side when compared to freedom-loving Americans.

    • SDN says:

No, actually those are NOT the facts. The facts are that one side was obeying the law by obtaining a permit, the street riot wing of the Democrat party sent thugs, just like we have video showing Hillary’s campaign doing during the election, and the Democrat mayor and governor gave their police department specific orders not to interfere with the other Democrats.

The rule of law cannot survive such behavior.

Notice the weasel word ‘fueled’? He doesn’t say ‘started’. Because he knows antifa started it. What a POS

      • richard40 says:

Actually both sides were eager to engage in violence, as Trump correctly said. Anybody who claims that either the white nationalists or Antifa were not equally at fault for charlottesville is defending a violent fascist/Marxist group.

Uhh no – those are lies – but you’re a Dem so I guess you don’t know the difference

I had a friend there. There were peaceful people on BOTH sides, and there were violent people on BOTH sides. I have a long first hand account. Antifa a holes were violent and holding hammer and sickle flags. Funny how the media doesn’t report that? People think what the media reports are ‘the facts.’ They ignore what doesn’t fit the template.

I am not going to give the “peaceful people” there a pass either. Anybody who showed up for what they thought would be a peaceful rally, then noticed a bunch of either white nationalists and KKK on their side, or Antifa on their side, should have known violence was coming, and should have left before the rally ever started. If they did not, they were acting as useful idiots, and giving cover to violent fascists/marxists.

  • jmp says:

Dem pols are using this event as a way to rally their side. Pretending everyone there on the right was racist, and everyone on the left were angels, fits the narrative. The hell with reality!

  • Scott says:

Exactly JMP, a “good” dem never lets the facts get in the way of the narrative…that’s why they hammered the President when he said there were good folks on both sides, because they had to have the narrative that anyone who didn’t want the statue taken down / park renamed was a nazi…
