Hold your hats, Ladies and Gents, here we have yet another story of a far-Leftist professor pushing his views on his students instead of simply teaching his course. At Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado’s second largest undergraduate college, Professor Charles Angeletti is attempting to force his students to recite a “New Pledge” of Allegiance in his American Civilization class.

“I pledge allegiance to and wrap myself in the flag of the United States Against Anything Un-American, and to the Republicans for which it stands, two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions, Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants, children of illegal immigrants, and you, if you don’t watch your step.”

Campus Reform first reported on this anti-U.S. Pledge of Allegiance with an interview done with Angeletti. In the piece, he claims that this satirical pledge’s purpose is to force students to question their nation’s leadership. This self-proclaimed atheist and socialist also told Campus Reform that he has been giving this charming piece of writing out to this students for 20 years.

“We’re very racist, we’re very repressive, we’re very Christian oriented, we don’t tolerate other kinds of thinking in this country,” Angeletti told Campus Reform. “I could go on and on –and do, in my classes, for hours about things that we need to do to make this a better country.”

While Angeletti has an overall good rating on RateMyProfessors.com, an academic review site, Conservative students have said that he punishes those with differing opinions, is argumentative, has no focus, and grades based on your political leanings.

“If you are a liberal, you will like him,” one student wrote. “He encourages you to speak out and voice your opinion…Unless of course, you are a Republican.”

“All this teacher does is ask what is on your mind at the start of every class, and that is how class is run every day based on what students say,” another student writes. “The only reason I got a B is because I hardly showed up to that class because it was so pointless. All he does is argue with everything you say, and you are always wrong. Didn’t learn anything.”

I’m sure the parents of most students attending Metropolitan State University are thrilled that their tuition dollars are being spent to pay the salary of a man who thinks they are bigoted, racist, Christian fools. Charles Angeletti is a perfect example of why we should be very diligent about talking to our children about morality, history, and political issues before they leave for college.
