Chris Titus: I’d assassinate Sarah Palin if she was elected

In case there was still some residual confusion about the new tone favored by liberals after the Gabrielle Giffords shooting — you know, the tone that was supposed to curb violence by cutting out supposedly violent rhetoric — C-list comic Chris Titus has come along to give us a little lesson. From the Daily Caller, on Monday’s “Adam Corolla Show”, Titus explained how he would react to the hypothetical election of Sarah Palin as president.

“You know what man? I am going to literally — if she gets elected president, I am going to hang out on the grassy knoll all the time, just loaded and ready — because you know what? It’s for my country. It’s for my country. If I got to sacrifice myself, it’s for my country.”

This was in response to Palin’s comments on Paul Revere (which of course have been proved to be accurate, not that you’ll hear that in the mainstream media). And as you can hear in the video, the audience’s response was to laugh. Apparently, joking about assassination is A-OK as long as it’s someone like Sarah Palin. Yet somehow, it’s the right that supposedly needs lessons in civility. I guess we just don’t understand that it’s perfectly acceptable to murder someone for their political beliefs, so long as the murderer is a liberal and the victim is a conservative. No wonder these morons idolize people like Che Guevara.

Of course, this will be waved off as an overreaction by the too-sensitive right. But is it? Palin’s parents have said that they have to sleep with guns because of the death threats they receive. The FBI arrested a man who had sent photocopies of a receipt for a gun he had bought and of a one-way ticket to Alaska to the Heaths. A gun-toting Palin stalker was arrested 50 miles from her home. Sarah Palin has said herself that she receives death threats on a regular basis. Were Sarah Palin a Democrat, then these incidents would be all over the media. Titus’ remarks would be denounced as fueling violent rhetoric against an innocent woman just trying to serve her country. But, alas, Palin has an (R) next to her name instead of a (D). So death threats and stalkers are brushed under the rug, and assassination is comedy.

So much for civility in politics.

Progressives have manipulated the political dialog in this country such that it is no longer about ethics–they have none; now, political debate is about confiscating others’ resources. It should come as no surprise that they are too spineless to bear being treated as they’d like to treat others.

    This is absolutely disgusting.

I’m British and more of a libertarian than a conservative (we do exist, although we’re probably on the RSPCA’s ‘whoah – is that a DODO?!?’ list), but I’m sickened by the way that Sarah Palin and her family are treated by the MSM, and by so-called ‘comedians’.

I stand by the right for him to say what he says and what he believes. I also stand by the right of so called ‘liberals’ and ‘progressives’ to laugh him out of town.

Oh, they aren’t? Do I hear the sound of tumbleweeds, there?

I’ve had conversations about politics with my American conservative friends and although we might disagree on certain issues, we can agree to disagree, and still be friends in spite of our differences.

But the leftists I come into contact with every day? Some are non-judgemental and open-minded, but they’re few and far between.

I’ve actually been accused of being a BNP supporter (the BNP is the modern British neo-nazi, national socialist party) because I describe myself as being right-wing. Never mind that I’m the only person they know who’s ever shouted ‘Am Yisrael chai’ at an anti-Israel demonstration. Nazi, me? Right. Not that most of them would even know what the phrase means, or that national socialism is erm….extreme left wing?

I’m beginning to agree with the idea that leftism is a mental disorder. If I were a US citizen, I’d be willing to vote for Palin. She might not be the best candidate for the job, but I’d vote for her over any of the shrieking, hypocritical, braying leftists who deride her as being stupid, while displaying their total ignorance about anything important, whether it be international relations, the economy, or dare I say it, morality?

  • Shodan says:

Sorry, Maybe I didn’t make the previous passage clear about the anti – Israel demo; I wasn’t AT the demonstration – I was shouting at it on my way to work, which is at a university in the north of the UK (weekends, eh:).

What happened to “civil discourse,” and the “new tone?”

  • soxfan4life says:

Given that he has experience, he assassinated his own career, Titus should be taken seriously.

  • Anonymous says:

So this is left/liberal “free speech” (soon to get him on with Joy Behar and company on The View) but it’s “hating” and “narrow-minded” for conservatives to complain about it?

  • Hoss says:

Hahaha, if your not a comedian then you cant criticize one for there sense of humor. That being said if a politician were to joke about shooting another politician that would be quite reprehensible. Oh, wait! Sarah Palin already did that when she talked about having democratic candidates in hers sights then had pictures posted on her sight of these politicians with reticles on their faces. We have to regain or pride as Republicans and accept that Sarah Palin is a sub-par candidate. Look to those like Ron Paul who seek to re-establish the small style of government the nation was built on.
