You Can Have my Meat When You Pry It from My Cold, Dead Hands

This is from the “Things that sound dirty, but aren’t” file. I’m talking about real meat and enviro-nazis’ real attempts to stop us from eating and enjoying our favorite foods.

Excise taxes on beef, pork, and chicken could be the next big thing in a state and local tax environment that’s already comfortable with “sin tax” regimes aimed at cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, and gambling and is adapting quickly to special levies on sugar-sweetened beverages, greenhouse gases, and marijuana.

[…]

“We have never been closer to a meat tax,” said Ashley Byrne, associate director of campaigns for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). “We have seen people—including meat eaters—realizing that meat is bad for their health and meat is taking this incredible toll on the environment. People seem more open than ever to an excise tax on meat. If we are going to tax tobacco, if we are going to tax soda, it absolutely makes sense to have a similar tax on meat.

This is not the first time we’ve seen psychotic, state-worshiping enviro-wackos push a tax on meat. It will give them a double prize: force everyone to conform to their way of life, and give their government gods extra revenue.

Using government force to compel citizens to behave a certain way is too obviously tyrannical, so they prefer simply using government force to influence behaviors they don’t like. Hence, the “meat tax.”

Also, note PETA’s sneaky attempts at creating the illusion that people support their insane tax on meat. There are no legislative proposals on any government level to impose a tax on your favorite foods. For now, your barbecue chicken, your prime rib, your pork chops, and your bacon cheeseburgers are safe from greedy statists, but PETA is working hard to advance the deception that not only is broad, popular support for vegetarianism, veganism, and their way of life is on the rise, but that a bigger percent of Americans now wants to force their fellow citizens to live like they do. And while it’s true there are more Americans today lowering their meat intake, that number is still tiny (and by the way, since the 2017 study was commissioned by the Vegetarian Resource Group – an organization with an obvious agenda – I have doubts that their estimate of 3.8 percent of Americans identifying either vegetarian or vegan are in any way accurate).

And considering that Bloomberg reports that Americans will eat a record amount of meat this year, I’m thinking PETA’s claim about support for their hare-brained meat tax idea is blathering from delusional, mentally deficient militant vegetarians, but I repeat myself.

But it’s not just the nutjobs at PETA pushing this potential economic disaster, it’s also those statist ass weasels at the United Nations, who want to tax meat until it’s too expensive to eat, forcing the farming and agriculture industry into abject poverty.

Additionally, while the World Health Organization derps about red meat being “probably” carcinogenic, which means they don’t know but are putting it out there anyway as a means of maligning an entire industry, beef and other meats are good sources of protein, iron, zinc, and other vitamins, and their negative effects are far from established science, especially if you stick to lean meats low in saturated fats.

In other words, the socialist moonbats at PETA and the UN are lying to you. They’re manipulating data and spreading propaganda in an effort to advance their agendas and destroy entire industries – one in an effort to force you to conform to their lifestyle and adopt their life choices, and the other in an effort to destroy entire industries to “equalize” the economic ecosystem, so to speak.

And they both hide behind “environmentalism” to advance these odious policies. Environmentalism is simply communism in green clothing – a watermelon, green on the outside and red on the inside – which uses propaganda techniques similar to the former USSR to advance its odious, anti-human policies.

Stay vigilant and have a steak, my friends, before they come for it.

A tax on this and a tax on that. Western civilization is committing suicide via death by a million taxes.

Except the “comrades” in charge will never be prohibited. Their porcine snouts will still be in the special troughs. One only has to look at the pudgy NOK leader to see how it works.

Well I eat meat. I breed angus cattle for meat. I enjoy meat because it tastes good and is nutritious and because as a human animal I am designed to eat meat, not just Tofu and fancy lattes. I consider myself a member of People who Eat Tasty Animals [PETA for short] and am very fit and healthy. My wife tried a meat-free diet years ago, but, as a woman, suffered due to a lack of iron and other forms or sources of what she needed were of no use so she eats meat. My cattle live a comfortable life with veterinary/medical care, vaccination and other treatments as necessary. They are fed well – I grow my own hay – and have necessary shelter. My animals are just animals. They are not pseudo human beings. They have no capacity for insight and live for the moment largely instinctively with no understanding that life on earth is a temporary affair for all beings/animals. They are dispatched humanely with a bullet through the brain and are dead before they hit the ground without any capacity to know about death.

I take exception to proselytisers of whatever denomination or religion shoving their narrow-minded theories and beliefs down my throat. Typically these narrow-minded zealots, usually from the cities, will lie, cheat, dissemble and distort information and bully weak-kneed politicians to achieve their aims. They indulge in terrorism: witness the fools who raided mink farms in England and the USA turning thousands of mink loose thus causing extreme harm to the natural fauna. PETA apparently kills a very large number of animas that come into its care rather than re-homing them. These people are just another group of leftist SJWs hell-bent on destroying any notion of a reasonable and safe society so as to enforce their ideal socialist form of government on the majority with them in charge. It’s not really about animals; it’s about their achieving power.

Here’s a link to some vegan mischief that happened over the weekend in Melbourne, Australia. It was a holiday long weekend for Australia Day:

The quote of the piece is: ““There is no humane way to kill someone who does not want to die.” These [emotionally disturbed] folks attribute to animals all the rights and functional abilities, including high cognition leading to insight, of humans.

Obviously meat eaters aren’t the bloodthirsty sort that these idiots make them out to be, otherwise, there’d be a lot of dead vegans, given the number of sharp knives present at a steakhouse…

Too late. EVERYTHING is taxed nowadays, even food. You could say “are no less safe from greedy statists as your turnips and beets.”

An old friend got into macrobiotics big time back in her hippie days — rice, tofu, some grains, veggies, seaweed, and that’s about all, folks. She couldn’t understand how weak and depressed she became.

Now and then she would have dinner with a friend who served meat. My friend perked right up.

Finally she figured out it was the meat which was making her feel better. She consulted a doctor who determined she had developed a serious vitamin B12 deficiency. Not only that, macrobiotics had damaged her body’s ability to manage B12 without supplements.

They’ve been at this for awhile. The “Progressive” movement of the early 20th century have rise to the Volstead Act and the Harrison Narcotics Act. Both were initially peddled as tax laws, and both were signed into law by notorious statist Woodrow Wilson.

Moral of the story: if you let a camel stick its nose under your tent, sooner or later you will have a whole camel in the tent with you.

Many like myself hunt, kill, gut, skin and EAT “free range” meat to supplement store bought – start onerous taxes upon store bought and the processing of “free range” will simply escalate. Out side hunting seasons we may even have to resort to other less protected and more easily sourced cud-chewing vegan meat sources … unintended consequences any one?

  • Romey says:

PETA, like all Leftists are about control. They want to control all aspects of your life. For a good Prog/Dem, the ideal would be to send all of everyone’s earnings to the Government. Then some obedient bureaucrat would send you back what they think you need.

    • Jim says:

“PETA, like all Leftists are about control.”

Absolutely correct! They seek power by any way they can, but generally in nefarious ways and by twisting truth and frequently by action in bullying mobs – like Ernst Roehm’s Sturmabteilungen [SA or Brownshirts] in 1930s Germany.

And we’re surprised the loyal followers of Hitler are vegetarian like him…. why, exactly?

    I’ll turn humanitarian first.

    1) Remember that vegans will be nice lean meat when the tough times come.

    2) These are the people that gave us Kellog’s and Post. They started as wellness fads, including exactly the same sorts of craziness as Paltrow’s Goop or Poop or whatever is its.

  • Russ Wood says:

And add to this, there was talk in the Italian Parliament about charging parents who fed their pre-teen children a Vegan diet with “child endangerment”. There’s a fair bit of evidence that before puberty, children need ‘proper’ protein in their diet, or their intelligence tends not to develop properly.
