Benghazi: Citizen Commission and Emails Show Willful Lying by Administration

Over 100 pages of emails and documents were released to Judicial Watch as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.  Upon viewing many of these emails, it is clear why the White House held on so tightly to these documents.  The emails present a clear intent by the Obama administration to lie to the American people once again.  Among them was a September 14, 2012 email from Ben Rhodes, an assistant to the president and deputy national security adviser for strategic communications.  Those last two words say it all – “strategic communications.”  In other words, how to lie effectively to the public.  No doubt a family trait as his brother is David Rhodes – the head of CBS News.

This particular email is of interest because it is about the preparation of  Susan Rice prior to her Sunday morning news show circuit run on September 16th to discuss the Benghazi attack.  The email was sent to Jay Carney (White House press secretary) and several others in the administrations inner circle, including senior advisor David Plouffe and  Mehdi K. Alhassani, another special assistant to the presidential staff.  Rhodes sent his email to 12 people in total to be included in the strategic phone call with Susan Rice.  Did she know she was going to be lying or was she a dupe to the President?  I also  have to wonder if the NSA has a copy of that conversation.  I sure would love a copy of that call.  Heh.

Outlined in the email– a few things stand out:

“To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.”

“To reinforce the President and Administration’s strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges.”

The email went on to say:

“We find it disgusting and reprehensible. But there is absolutely no justification at all for responding to this movie with violence,”

It is clear that the goal was to lie, make the President look good, and blame the video instead of his foreign policy, regardless of what the intelligence community knew.  The White House was directing this video story.  Anyone who has been paying attention has known from the beginning that it wasn’t the video.  We knew they were lying.  That is why there has been an ongoing investigation.  An investigation the liberals have been trying to thwart from the beginning.

So why did they lie?  Why did they work so hard to insulate the President?  Why not just tell the truth from the beginning, that “it was a terrorist attack that we did not expect and we could not get enough manpower there in time to help”?  It’s not as if they don’t hold the press by the ears; they’ve been controlling the dialogue for years.  So why?  It is not like they were trying to sell us something like Obamacare.  Why work so hard to cover it  up?  The media does that for them.  What else do we not know?  There is more.  There is a lot more.  Benghazi is not over.  We do not have all the answers.  The information revealed on Monday confirmed what we knew, and for the first time, it put a name on some those who orchestrated the subterfuge.  Now, on to the unknown.  The who and the why.

The lies are reprehensible, their behaviors shameful, and yet their dishonesty is reaching new levels.  Yesterday, Jay Carney was trying to tell us that the Benghazi emails released have nothing to do with Benghazi.  Yet another bold-faced lie.  Who will be held accountable?  Eighteen months later, the only person in jail is a man who made a lousy YouTube video.

The truth must be told for U.S. Ambassador Christoper Stevens, for Sean Smith, for Tyrone Woods, for Glen Doherty – and for the American people.

Oh, and Hillary knows.  It is far past time for her to testify as to what she knew and when.  Not that she will.  She knows the media will continue to cover for her.   What difference, at this point, does it make?
