40th Anniversary of Roe v Wade: 55 Million Abortions and Counting

Today is the 40th Anniversary of Roe v Wade. This anniversary marks the horrific fact that since Roe v Wade, more than 55 million unborn children have died from abortions nationally, a human rights abuse that is unprecedented in all of American history. And in honor of that ominous anniversary, NARAL, the leading pro-abortion advocacy group in the country, has announced their annual ‘Blog for Choice Day,’ today in ‘celebration’ of the 40th anniversary of this infamous decision. So, ‘Blog for Choice Day’. Sounds ambiguous doesn’t it? Does that mean a choice to be a redhead rather than blond? To wear black instead of blue? To go to college or not? No. Regardless of what they try to say it’s about, ‘Choice’ is always code for killing the unborn.

Today, I’m not trying to engage the hardcore, pro-choice woman. I’d like to speak to conservatives who say that they are personally opposed to abortion but believe that it is up to a woman and her doctor. I submit that this is a passive, even cowardly, stance to take and here’s why…

The Pro-choice argument always centers around women’s rights. They claim that abortion is safe, that there are no lasting emotional scars. At times, they invoke privacy issues – like a Libertarian might do. We’ve heard their fear-based, pro-abortion rhetoric before; that if Roe v. Wade is overturned, women will have to go back to being butchered by creepy abortionists in back alleys. And then there are those stories consisting of dirty coat hangers with women bleeding to death because screaming rightwing radicals wouldn’t let the kindly abortionist practice out in the open. The truth, of course, is much less dark and dangerous. But what pro-abortion feminazi – with a serious, lucrative agenda to push – would ever admit to that?

It’s interesting that for the longest time, pro-abortion advocates called themselves pro-choice and now, after doing some sort of sweeping marketing poll, they aren’t anymore. I submit that if it was really about “women making choices that are best for them”, and not about being specifically pro-abortion, then the feminazis wouldn’t be OK with the blatant lies and manipulation that are so commonplace in the abortion movement. If it was about being “pro-woman” which feminazi’s love to throw around as well, then one might think that they’d want women to be completely informed about the risks associated with pregnancy. It doesn’t happen because pro-abortionists and feminazi’s are completely and utterly disingenuous. Keeping the fear level high is paramount to keeping the pro-abortion narrative going.

Of course, Planned Parenthood has been caught multiple times lying to women about whether or not the heart has started beating yet and how developed the baby is. Even worse is the evidence of Planned Parenthood’s willingness to cover up the statutory rape and sexual abuse of minors in order to sell abortions at their centers all around the country but especially in the inner cities. Does this bother the feminazi’s? No. They don’t care as long as women are getting abortions. It isn’t about choice, because for them there’s only one choice, and that’s abortion. Any amount of lies and manipulation is allowable for them if it leads to more abortions.

Please. Look at this photo above of a pre-born child through 3D ultrasound and then the photo after being born. Is there anything more beautiful? Show me. To know we have this level of scientific technology yet continue the farce of “my body, my choice” is gruesome and nihilistic. Yet, it’s pro-lifers who are called haters and anti-woman.

Safe, legal, and rare?

Today, Planned Parenthood and their affiliates across America, in essence, celebrate the killing of 55 million babies (and millions of broken and brutalized women) and frankly, that’s decidedly craven. For those of us who are pro-life, pre-born babies have no voice but ours. Even with today’s bad news, don’t be wishy washy in your position on life. Don’t be silent. Spread the counter argument. The very future of our country depends on protection of the weakest members of the human family. 55 million Americans gone because of abortion? For me THIS is what the word “weep” was meant for.

Choose Life, unashamedly.

By pointing out the slogan President Clinton once used, that he wanted abortion to be “safe, legal and rare,” you have hit upon both the ideological and economic weakness of the pro-abortion side. If there is nothing wrong with abortion, why should they want it to be rare? What point is there in wishing that an action which is not wrong doesn’t happen very often?

But there’s more. The pro-abortion people do not want abortion to be rare; they want there to be a lot of abortions. Abortion is a relatively inexpensive procedure for one reason: the abortion clinics have managed to set up an industrial scale operation, which perform large numbers of abortions and realize the economies of scale. They require a fair amount of medical equipment, which is expensive, yet they have relatively few physicians, because the procedure is so repugnant and deadening to the soul.

But, were abortion to actually become rare, it would also become much more expensive. With fewer patients, the equipment and clinic costs would be spread over a smaller customer base, and per abortion costs would necessarily rise. As most clinics went out of business, abortions would revert back to the individual D&C method — very few gynecologists would purchase and maintain the vacuum aspiration equipment currently used to perform 88.3% of all abortions in the US — and that is more time consuming and labor intensive, as well as not being as “neat” as vacuum aspiration.

This would cause the price of abortions to rise dramatically, putting them out of the financial reach of many of the poor women who have abortions currently. Making abortion rare means, inter alia, making abortion far less available; that’s simple economics.

And thus, I never refer to the pro-abortionists as “pro-choice.” They are pro-abortion because they have to want to see a large number of abortions, simply to keep abortion economically available.

Pro-abortionists who call themselves “pro-choice” are lying. If they really cared about a woman’s right to choose, they would advise pregnant women NOT to abort. As long as the baby remains alive, the woman still has a choice: she can choose to raise the child herself, or she can choose to release him/her for adoption. But once the baby is dead, there is no more choice.
