Obama’s Hypocrisy -“Freedom of Religion is Under Threat”

Did President Obama really say that “freedom of religion is under threat”? The same Obama administration that is currently being sued by Catholic organization, Little Sisters of the Poor for mandating  against their religious belief, that they provide abortifacient drugs (Latin That will cause a miscarriage) and certain contraceptives as part of their employee health care plan? The same Obama administration that finds itself at the center of controversy over religious freedom with other civil liberties groups, as well as a couple of upcoming Supreme Court cases involving family-owned companies Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties

Earlier today, at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama said this:

“No society can truly succeed unless it guarantees the rights of all its people, including religious minorities.” Obama also went on to say, “It’s also clear that around the world, freedom of religion is under threat.”

Well President Obama, we agree. But let’s not get excited just yet. It seems that Obama’s call was for world-wide freedom, freedom of religion abroad – not here in the USA. Obama cited that he and his administration have held meetings with China, Burma, Middle East and African Nations all due to their concern for restrictions placed on religious freedom. He even called for the release of  Americans, Kenneth Bae, a prisoner sentenced to 15 months of hard labor in North Korea and Saeed Abedini, the pastor being held in Iran since 2012. Although we are elated that Obama has finally called for their release, it is quite disappointing that he has ignored our pleas right here at home. So put down the pen and pick up the Constitution. Americans want freedom of religion too, Mr. President.
