Military Heroes to Endorse Ted Cruz, Thanks to Rick Perry

Texans are reputed to be tough individualists, and they take care of their own. Now one proud son of the Lone Star State is stepping up to boldly support his Texas brother.

Rick Perry is setting up a Super PAC for his fellow Texan Ted Cruz. It’s called Keep the Promise for Veterans, and while funding has not yet been established, a spokeswoman for the PAC said, “Gov. Perry’s voice on veterans issues will be a strong asset for Sen. Cruz as the GOP nomination continues to unfold.” The group plans to highlight veterans’ issues throughout the campaign.

And look whom Rick Perry has lined up to back Ted Cruz:

Yep. That’s Marcus Luttrell, former Navy SEAL and the original “Lone Survivor.”

That’s Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, also stepping up to endorse Ted Cruz.

And finally, Taya Kyle, widow of the late Navy SEAL and sniper Chris Kyle.

Texas values. Veterans’ values, endorsed by real heroes. Bring them on.

    AN OPEN LETTER:
To war hero, and recipient of the Medal of Honor, Dakota Meyer. We of Warriors United, a national clandestine sub-group of the VFW – due to dirty tactics by VFW National – care very much for the reputation of America’s very special Heroes, as recipients of America’s highest honor for an American Warrior; The Medal of Honor. This marvelous medal is awarded as recognition of America’s highest achievement of those that make America the Land of the Brave. You have earned that far and above any effort or duty that can be expected of any American Warrior.

Granted our organization has endorsed Donald J. Trump, as any organization that polls it members, and endorses accordingly. Every member of our organization has earned the coveted Combat Infantryman’s Bade (CIB) or it’s equivalent, according to the branch of service in which it was earned. One third of our members have received the Purple Heart, and the full spectrum of awards for heroism; but even more coveted among combat warriors is the warrior love for the loyalty among those of this very special Brotherhood, a brotherhood to which you belong. It is with this bond of brotherhood that we appeal to you, and out of no other conceivable reason. We acknowledge your support of Sen. Cruz as your sincere choice, as a citizen, and a lawful voter, and respect your judgment and right to support with your vote the candidate of your choice. We also recognize your 1st Amendment right to voice your support in whatever venue, and in whatever way of your choosing as yours to exercise. As such, we of WARRIORS UNITED do not ask as a demand to adhere to any enforceable mandate; but as an expression of brotherly concern from fellow combat brothers, for your unique position as a member of the most unique warrior society, that of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

After much discussion as a result of several media news alerts and articles; we have come to a decision based on a large majority of our membership, to share with you our understanding of your decision to go public with your support for the candidate of your choice, as a recipient of the Medal of Honor.

Our appeal to you is from what we discern as the spirit of the heart of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

On August 5, 1958 President Dwight Eisenhower signed legislation sent to him by Congress chartering the CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR SOCIETY. The purposes were clearly spelled out in its charter (which can be found in Title 36 U.S.C., Chapter 33).

The objectives and purposes of the Society are as follows:

    • To form a bond of friendship and comradeship among ALL holders of the Congressional Medal of Honor. (We have observed much discord among even combat vets during this unusual political season. This could very well hinder the bond of brotherhood among the very few living recipients of the Medal of Honor, and their friends, relatives and associates, which would damage the Honor in which the Medal is held. Medal recipients often rightly say that they wear their medals for all those so recognized, as well as those who as warriors – Military or civilian – possess the same courage and bravery, but never were in a situation that required those unique qualities to have an affect on a particular situation.)

    • To protect, uphold and preserve the dignity and honor of the medal at all times and on all occasions. (That a declaration of public support for a particular candidate for U.S. President could harm the dignity and honor of the CMH, and this for the same reasons of concern stated above)

    • To protect the name of the medal and individual recipients of the Medal from exploitation. (This is why we humbly appeal to your sense of brotherly love, and loyalty among your CMH brothers.)

The below section of the U.S. Code binds the CMH Society (Corp) and its Director as well as any officers there of. As such we acknowledge that you as an individual member of the CMH Corp, are not bound by this section of the Code. That being said, in conversations with several CMH recipients, our membership came to the following understanding, which you are easily able to seek out affirmation or renunciation, and that is; that there is a gentleman’s agreement among living CMH recipients, that member will take the lead of their Corporate Director and Corporate officers, whom they have elected to represent them as CMH recipients, and thereby; not contribute to, support, or participate in any political activity or in any manner attempt to influence legislation.

    36 U.S. Code § 40506 – Restrictions
    (b)Political Activities.—
The corporation or a director or officer as such may not contribute to, support, or participate in any political activity or in any manner attempt to influence legislation.

It is with a thankful heart for your service to our country, that we submit this open letter for your consideration, hoping that you will once again make us proud of you as the Best of the Best. WARRIORS UNITED, JPW PIO

    • Keith Renuard says:

James Wainscoat, Dakota Meyer chose the most TRUE conservative there is that will do everything to defend the constitution, our religious freedoms, jobs, economy, and our country as a whole. That has been proven. The more you research of Trump, the more of your brothers will jump the Trump Ship.

    • Mark waller says:

James wainscoat it seems that your members should spend the same amount of energy and time veting Donald trump as you do trying to change the mind of someone that has earned the medal of honor. This is coming from a vet.

  • Terry Watts says:

God Bless all of our Veterans and Military !! Thank you all for defending our great Country ! Hero’s ALL !! Governor Perry you are a wonderful patriot and you will always have my vote ! Ted Cruz is a Texas son also, and the only candidate to take our Country back from the hell we have all gone through for the past 7 long years. God Bless America and God Bless all of you and your families !! God has your backs !!!
