Dixie Chicks Natalie Maines Opens Her Big Mouth Again, Takes Aim at Ted Cruz

Remember the Dixie Chicks outrage in 2003? (Note: A portion of this video contains language NSFW)

Frontwoman Natalie Maines of The Dixie Chicks is hungry for some publicity yet again, and has taken to Twitter throw in her two cents than right before a Republican debate and presidential election. Her target this time? Senator Ted Cruz!

Natalie Maines’ anti-war/anti-Cruz tweet is causing a bit of a stir:

Back in 2003, The Dixie Chicks performed a concert in London, and criticized W and his policies. I was working at a radio station at the time, and “Landslide” was at top of the charts — the number one song in the country. My program director didn’t care. It was wiped out of the music library. Clear Channel Radio (now iHeart Radio) followed suit.

Maines didn’t stop at her tweet about Cruz a few days back. She tweeted this yesterday evening:

So to Ms. Maines, we say this:

And this:

Just last year, she tried to prove herself right again:

Maines is being applauded (no surprise) by Daily KOS:

One more tidbit of happy before this story ends. Remember when Rush Limbaugh’s “hate radio” parent company iHeart Media (formerly Clear Channel) axed the Dixie Chicks? The mega media corporation removed the trio’s music from playlists throughout the country—just because of Maines’ statement about Bush. Well, now Limbaugh is being boycotted and is short thousands of sponsors, and he has been dumped by a good number of radio stations. iHeart? They are billions in debt.(BILLIONS)

Sometimes we get to see the good in this world override the evil, and when that happens, it’s a beautiful thing. And when it comes to right-wing, war mongering, sexist, racist, bigots—here’s hoping Natalie Maines and the Dixie Chicks remain “Not Ready To Make Nice.”

Gag.

In promotion of the Dixie Chicks’ first tour in 10 years, she said:

I’ll never make nice, but I will tour the States again.-Natalie Maines

Funny, but politics is not the business of making nice. War is not nice. Neither is the music industry. But, seriously… if you’re ashamed, Ms. Maines, and think those who don’t agree with your behavior are a bunch of dummies, why are you still HERE? Riiiiiigggght. Because dummies buy your albums and concert tickets. Like most Americans who are “embarrassed” and “ashamed”, I don’t see anyone here forcing her to stay against her will and unlike some Americans, Ms. Maines has more than enough disposable income to go and buy a little cottage in Europe somewhere… and STAY THERE! And, we wish she would. Not just because she’s not a fan of Ted Cruz (her disdain can be turned into a glowing endorsement), but because we are sick and tired of whiny, celebrity brats who grasp at straws to be relevant with words like “ashamed” and “embarrassed” simply to get attention from the public.

To be honest, since we’re not making nice, I’m sure Texas is (still) ashamed of the Dixie Chicks. And on the topic of “not making nice”, let’s look at the name Dixie Chicks, shall we? The irony is completely lost on Maines, I am sure. Wanna be politically correct, Maines? Start with your name that makes you money, honey. Isn’t the name “Dixie” associated with the Confederacy and and traditions and legacies of the era? And, let’s talk about the word, “chick”, shall we? Yep. I’m surprised the PC police hasn’t gone up one side of them and down the other for this alone. I find it amusing that the ACLU didn’t even come after you all in 2007 for your moniker! Oh, right. Maines and “the Chicks” are on their side. Their right-wing, “war-monger”, “sexist”, “racist”, “bigot”-hating side. They should change their name. And they should move to another country. Then they can be free of “shame” and “embarrassment” and make their money elsewhere with a clear conscience. We’ll even help pack their bags. Goodbye, GIRRRRRRLLLLLS!

As a Texan, I am deeply ashamed that this individual still claims to be a Texan. She’s probably a proud citizen of Austin.
She continues to prove that her mediocre talent is matched by her mediocre intellect.

She just doesn’t get it. Her entire base is made up of the very people she despises. They were on the top of the charts until she kept yipping her yap with anti-American BS and Progressive bigotry.

  • Appalled By The World says:

Irrelevant twit dying for some attention. Looks like the overrated career is pretty much over-tisk tisk.

And how can she sleep nights by keeping the band’s “racist” name? Lol.

  • Jodi says:

    Stay classy, Natalie.

  • OC says:

Don’t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out Natalie.

  • Dano says:

“Just so you know…I’m ashamed Natalie Maines is from America.”
